| Titles! like king and otherwise a god, like a friend, ally, or even a moral enemy. An namesake that in the normal world is held as status, but mostly posesses no direct relation to true power. Even "the worlds strongest" is not popping volcano's like pop bottles. But here on SAO remastered things are different. Titles have power, and give bonuses, as well as access to even secrets beyond the eyes of commoners.
Unlike the Achievement system,These are not nessarily as simple or straight forward to get. Granted With titles obtained some may grant powers, or even terrible curses. Many grant bonuses through a reminder of feats, and otherwise actions that both enrich a story, or otherwise tell's both enemies and allies Just who you are, and how far you will go.
How do titles work.
To claim a title is through an in game action known as submission. Submissions are checks that your character will go though in game where an NPC will inform the avatar ( staff controlled) what their accomplishments have accumulated into so far. This is a 3 post deal where the NPC will list avaliable titles that you can claim, Which is the fun because those you are close to claiming an npc will hint In game.
once completed in the respective topic you can claim your title's granted which will be approved, and added to your charecter sheet.
but wait what does that mean?
titles play a pivitol part to how your character is viewed, A hero being one who has saved lives, or protected the weak, and even stayed true to self in their quests. is beloved, and probbably given an unique ability that benifits them.
While a "red player" may deal more damage in PVP, and PVE, but never really be able to catch a break in safe city zones, as even the guards may charge them steep Cor costs, and the worst perhaps may be fought freely in cities. All because they killed another player in cold blood?.
these impact heavily on even avaliable items in NPC shops, and likewise are important to keep mind of both in and ooc. And in combat vs NPC's. The impacts are both great and small, depends on what happens, and how far you are willing to go.
title classes
there are two classes of titles.
Active titles: these are interchangeable, like perks, and will grant unique bonus abilities as well as bonus stats like free damage reduction, or bonus EXP when doing quests, dealing extra damage vs certain types of creatures/ taking less damage froma certain element. Each character has 4 Active title slots, which when equipped must be noted in your signature.
Alignment titles: Similar to alignment systems in many rpgs, alignment titles play off who and what your character represents, Despite how volitile it may seem. This plays more of an background but enables your actions go signify and impact more in a story sense,although it does affect some quests, their rewards, and even an increase in exp/cor gain from defeating enemies both players and npc's of different alignments.
These also add depth to the characters in question like their motivations, hopes and dreams as well.
changing this is not as easy as an active title. The character must show growth, and come to terms with their actions ,good snd evil. This normally takes time like even s few quests with diffrdnt choices instead of the usual actions. But plays as a challenge to players, and rpers alike.
Classified between lawful, neutral, and chaotic, While equally playing with good, neutral, and evil.

A Ninja: Silent but if spotted then the enemy is already dead. (grants +15% damage while stealthed, and +30 Acc. instead of 3 posts needed to go stealth when discovered, only 2 are required.) How to obtain: kill 60 enemies without being detected.
A Master chef!: delicious! your handy work has drawn the eyes of many. (food bonuses granted from your dishes are 2X effective.) How to obtain: Get cooking support skill up to level 10.
Red player: The system has flagged you as an dangerous entity, sleep with one eye open. (you deal +15% damage to all enemies, but you can get attacked in safe zones, Cor costs in safe zones increase by,+10%.) How to obtain: attack and kill another player.
Boss slayer: legend has it that your blade sends fears up and down a boss's spine. They got a hit on you. ( you deal +20% damage vs Boss's, stun's and other status afflictions vs bosses last 1 additional post, you will recive +5% more damage from bosses.) how to obtain: deal the last hit to 10 diffrent boss's.
The one who walks alongside death: How have you not died? Have you made a deal with death??? ( you have gained an damage reduction of +25 vs all scources, healing effects heal +15%. ) How to obtain: Survive 10 combat topics with under 10 HPR.
Ultimate warrior: One of thoes guys. They lead the pack as head strong, but sharp blades. ( you gain damage reduction of 5 points from all scources. sword, axe damage increases by 10%.) How to obtain: reach weapon skill level 10 in sword's and axes as a warrior class.
skyfather: Legend has it that you are beyond reaching and rules the sky with an iorn fist. ( You can now fly this lasts for 3 posts, 2 post cooldown., all airborne enemies receive +25% more damage from you.) How to obtain: As a valkerie class: with any weapon skill reach level 10. JCR must pass 100 in points.
The weapon master: legend has it you know every art with a weapon. (you deal +50% damage with any weapon you weild.) how to obtain: get to level 10 with all weapon types in your charecter's life time.
One who has done it all: you have had a taste in everything! you must tell me your secrets!. (you can use an additional basic class bonus set with any class you choose.) how to obtain: must have played, and leveled the base skills of each basic class to level 10, in your charecters lifetime.
master hobbyist: so you have lots of hobbies i see.. is that an alchemy set? wow! ( you can choose a 3rd sub class set now.) how to obtain: you must have played and leveled each subclass basic skills to level 10.
pacifist: it is true! you have not harmed fly. (your protective spells, healing spells/abilities all increase by +50%.) how to obtain: participate in 20 battles including 2 boss fights and not deal 1 point in damage.
Beastmaster: i see you have gone and tamed a beast, can you tame a dragon too? ( your pets/summons deal +5% damage, an recieve +5% DFR.) How to obtain: tame 10 diffrent animals or animal charectedistic enemies.
The world wonder: 7th wonder? hah did you know you are the 8th wonder? (Houses/bases you construct have an additional 2 slots for defenses and offenses.) how to obtain: get construction skill to level 10.
master theif: They say that even your own dinner is not safe. they can even steal your life.( you can now steal held/weilded items in combat, but it is risky.) How to obtain: With the "invader" feat steal from 10 players.
Master smith: Armor, weapon, items. i have touched them all, i can forge them all. (weapons, armors and items you refine, reforge, and create get a bounus 3 slots at each level. All armors, weapons, and armors HPR can be doubled.) how to obtain: get black smith, item crafting, and armor smithing up to level 10 in one life time. *note must have a smithing skill to equip this.*
Quest head: So another quest you want? sir we are out of quests you have done them all. (recevie +50% more cor, and exp from quests.) how to obtain: complete 10 Quests.
- Alignment titles:
Lawful/Chaotic
deals +50%/recives damage to the polar opposite alignment class charecters/ enemies.
recives + 25% EXP/cor from all quests with their respective alignment.
recives -25% total exp/cor from quests of the polar opposite.
neutral:
recives +15% EXP/cor from all non aligned quests.
cannot take certain quests that require chaotic,or lawful tags.
recives -10% damage from all damage from chaotic /lawful charecters/enemies.
good, neutral, evil
depending on the title this affects how NPC's may interact with your charecter. Granted it is mostly flavor. This also assists with your taming on npc's and how they may interact in combat and others outside of combat.
with the unique combat effect the system in PVE will do a special check (mod controlled.) every 3 posts if requested.
Good:
assists with taming effects, may grant free items out of generousity. or freindliness. The greater the kindness one shows the better the chances. may pacify enemies which makes them temporary allies. *does not work on bosses*
neutral: when an pet is tamed they follow both verbal and if possible mental orders to the T. can convince Some NPC's in combat as an action to focus on other targets. *does not affect bosses*
Evil: imposes fear in others, reduces effectiveness of other creatures, by imposing a random debuff with tamed pets vs npc's. and may force targets to flee after a kill if nearby. *this does not work on bosses, but their mobs it does.* (these fleeing effects counts as kills.)
