taming/pet system Empty
PostSubject: taming/pet system   taming/pet system EmptySat Apr 18, 2020 5:10 pm

this goes without saying. the more the merrier.

the taming system becomes avaliable for thoes who have at least 1 level in the "whispering" skill. once you have this this becomes an option when facing off against NPC's in mobs, and raids.

taming basics

As per the level of the NPC it takes that many posts to an maximum of 10 posts. (5 with master tamer feat) to subdue, and  tame an NPC. To subdue such creatures requires the use of Traps. made, and sold by thoes who use the "trapmaking skill". Optionally if not using traps. The avatar must make a called "knock out shot." which has an inherint 50% to fail, upon failure the knock out shot will be considered normal damage. but if suscessful this will knock out the NPC.  This can only be done on NPC that have only 30 or less HPR remaining.

Once A creature is subdued, and tamed. it becomes your pet. An avatar can inherintly  posess at first only 2 pets. With investment in  sn certain advanced skill. Your avatar can posess more pets.

pet basics

pets when tamed start at level 2.   pets can be trained as well, but cannot gain craftsman support skills unkess humanoid. additionally Their support skills can only be capped at level 5, otherwise pets and can only  gain 5 combat skills. The pets keep their current stats upon  being tamed, and will level up the same way as the user does. Granted they share any EXP the user  from quests, and combat. Additionally the pets if they score last hit. It will count for the user.

Pets also get 3 equipment slots being 2 armor peices, and an equippable weapon.  If humanoid like (human, wolfman, boarman, monster girl/man, dryads, etc) they get 5 equipment slots. (3 armor, 1 weapon, 1 equippable item.) and can use magic If they have the respective skills/feats.

pet death

when pets HPR hit 0. the  pet will die in 3 posts unless healed. but this can only be done once in a pets lifetime. Upon hitting 0 a second time. the pet dies. and any items equipped on the pet is lost.

taming/pet system Empty
PostSubject: Re: taming/pet system   taming/pet system EmptyTue Jun 29, 2021 3:54 pm

Summoner/ Beastmaster taming rules.

With the inclusion of the summoner and beastmaster subclasses. Your pets will change significantly. As there will be different options avaliable for the player to make use of with these two classes. They also function a bit differently As well. So it is important to pay close attention.

Sunmoner subclass basics.

the summoner spells are invoking spells, and these are commonly temporary creatures invoked by the user through the system. When summoning a creature its stats will be increased from their base values by +25 in total per level in the spell, and additionally gains an bonus of +25% of each of the users stats. Like with any NPC that's under the users control these are controlled by the user. These spells can also grant specific abilities when tied with other elements. (ex fire theurgy summon, will summon a burning beast rouge or something.)

When summoning a creature the level of the type of spell is split in two categories.

Class summoning; so rouge, ranger, warrior, paladin, mage, priest, martial, and unspecified.

species summoning; human, beast, monster, dead, demon, celestial, slime, abomination, Automation, Deus.

based on the choices made, the summoning spells can be really specific (rouge beast) or based on one class. This will result in the creatures being summoned based on either more randomized cases, or a specific case. When summoning a creature the system will determine how many you have slain, and by this case if their abilities will come into play, So A seasoned player summoning a beast warrior, will have wider variety in choices vs a beginning charecter with the sunmoner perk.

permanent summons.

these are rare, and for most part will take up one of your pet slots, and are unable to grow. The best thing is that they can be freely swapped at any time, and will use up the spell level of that level to maintain it. You can only have 2 permanent summons at one time, additionally using A level 10 summon will bar both level 9-10 spells from all sources for the user being used. Until the summon is dispersed/desummoned.

Beastmaster

on the other side of the coin. Beastmasters tend to be an expansion of the base tamer system, gradually gaining more pets as one improves. This also enables the abilities granted through the beast pact skill. to host various properties a creature may have. like temporary wings from bird based pets, or even darksight from a pet with dark sight. The use ofvthis enables both temporary and permanent enhancements, while if permanent enhancements are used then the ability will use up the level of the respected ability slot. and only up to 4 permanent enhancements can be used.
